Almost a century ago, the Treuil family and their coopers set up the Brive cooperage in the eponymous town already well known for rugby and foggy weather - the latter perfect for wood aging, the former for growing a strong workforce.
Originally, Chestnut was the wood of choice, however history and Napoleon dictated that the vast established oak forests be put to better use - for building ships. This reinforced the necessity of managing the forests in an on-going, sustainable manner.
Brive Tonneliers brings together a very experienced team of coopers, able to offer a wide range of production methods, any one of which will enhance your wine.
Treuil barrels from Brive are all 3 year seasoned oak and toasted by fire in a unique way to enhance the mid palate and extend this texturally through the entire length of your wine.
Aroma will add freshness and energy.
